Named Best Boutique Hotel by Wallpaper
This boutique hotel, owned by the Ambassador group, hired Bing Design to convey its young, fun and hip image for multiple hotels. The brand concept in terms of naming is the same, but each hotel’s graphics are also inspired by the location, and thus will be different. The original Amba reflects the colors and hip young neighborhood with graffiti-inspired signage and illustrations of the culture of the area, while the second Amba, in a train station area, uses more of an industrial design approach.
Name
BD coined “amba”, an abbreviated version of Ambassador, and then used the “ba” as a play on words for all the names in the hotel, from keycards (“kai ba”) to restaurants (“chi ba”), reception (“wen ba”) and more.
Signage, Colors & Design
For the original Amba, located in a hip neighborhood, we used yellow, which features throughout this area, and graffiti, reflected in oversized numbers on guest floors. A panorama of the neighborhood gives the corridors life.
Oversized numbers on guest floors are a fresh approach to hotel signage, while the other floors list their function: f & b, etc.
Elevator Doors
Elevator doors are illustrated with the culture of the neighborhood, featuring film, music, fashion and food.

被著名的Wallpaper杂志评为“最佳精品酒店”
意舍是台湾国宾集团旗下的精品酒店,邀请兵设计为其位于不同地区的酒店设计视觉系统,来传达品牌年轻、有趣和时尚的形象。虽然两家精品酒店的名字和内部的功能区域名字一样,但由于所在的城区不同,所设计的视觉形象也大为不同。第一家意舍的用色创意来自西门町的艺术气息和周边年轻人喜爱的涂鸦风,所以酒店的指示运用了插画和各种涂鸦。第二家位于火车站区域,所以浓重的工业设计就成为了设计的重点。
命名
兵设计取国宾集团的英文Ambassador中的“Amba”作为意舍的英文名字,继而大玩了一把文字游戏,将“吧”用在了所有功能区的命名上:房卡(开吧)、餐厅(吃吧)以及服务台(问吧)等。
指示设计、色彩和设计
“每一家意舍酒店就象是当地社区的一块画布”。对于第一家意舍,我们用了很多黄色、涂鸦以及超大的数字指示牌来展现西门町的年轻活力。走廊里的一副全景插画更是形象地描绘了酒店周边的所有生活场景栩栩如生。
电梯门
我们在电梯门上印上了区域的文化,比如西门町的电影、音乐、时尚和饮食等。
